Lambert Lake Inn: 165 acres of paradise. As peaceful a setting as you are going to find . . . unless the screeching of the electric bird, the croaking of bull frogs, the nattering of ospreys or the baying of wild sheep wouldn't fall into your definition of peaceful. Sometimes all you hear is the wind, and all you see is the milky way, stars beyond count. There are no large predators on Lasqueti, unless you count the beavers preying on our apple trees. You and your children can feel safe to walk around freely day and night. The hiking is as endless as your imagination. The mountain biking is a teeth gritting challenge. For those seeking solitude, Lasqueti is just that. Then, if you wanted to go looking, you can come across the most interesting characters you'll ever meet. The locals are colourful and opinionated, and while they may not always agree with you, they will likely tell you why. Folks here are from every corner of the globe, but now they are Lasquetians, and for the time being, so are you.

You can spend your time rowing on the lake, working out, or taking scenic and peaceful walks to the ocean. Two ocean beaches are less than a mile in either direction of the road, one way leads to the Sabine Channel, and the other to the Georgia Strait. You can bike or get a ride to the south end of the island and enjoy a picnic in beautiful Squitty Bay Provincial Park. You can head to the north end of the island and have a drink in the Blue Roof Pub for a warm, friendly if not eccentric atmosphere. You can also go to the Bakery for light lunch fare and on friday nights, pizza. There are also numerous fruit and vegetable stands which feature produce and baked goods.

It was once said on David Letterman that you can't get better dope than what's grown on Lasqueti, and so you may want to book time in the fall during the annual RCMP joint forces helicopter raid, a surreal spectator sport. Despite this, all we want to cultivate at Lambert Lake Inn is a relaxing retreat for our guests.
